because you say so…

1One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,[a]with the people crowding around him and listening to the word of God, 2he saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down[b] the nets for a catch.”

5Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

Luke 5 1-11

I want to live like this. I want to do the things that Jesus, the Holy Spirit, asks me to do. I want to do them because Jesus asks me to do them. They may seem a bit weird to people around me, they may be uncool or challenging to my lifestyle but if it what Jesus is telling me then I want to answer, ” If you, Jesus, say so then I will….”

With this comes testing of what I hear the Holy Spirit prompting me to do, ensuring it is what from God. I need to make sure it is inline with what is the bible, that it is inline with the character of God. Speaking to someone you trust and have a relationship with it also a good way of testing.

What is the Holy Spirit prompting you to do? and what will your response be?

“Because you say so Jesus, I will…”

grace and peace

How do we show every one we come across grace and peace?

I think we need to feel that we have peace in our own lifes first. But is this alwasy the case, are we alwasy at peace with ourselves? Can we be?

Peace brings images of a still lake at dawn and a clear blue sky without a cloud for miles…

Where do we fiind our peace in a crazy busy hetic life?

And what about grace. An understanding, acceptance of people. I was going to write acceptance of situations but we that is not the case.
